Ms. Kristyn Jones introduced the following bill; which was read once and referred to the Committee on _____Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions _______________________



A BILL

To _Do what?? ___Make the suicide assists of a Physician legal in the state of________ __Washington._____________________________________________________________
 
             Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE

            _____Physician Assisted Suicide __ Act of 2013.




SEC.2. FINDINGS AND PURPOSES
            explain why this bill is needed
(a)  Findings – Congress finds the following (research that proves your bill is necessary)

This bill is written to make it legal for a physician to assist in the suicide of an adult over the age of 18 that does not want to suffer, with the requests by three others in the state of Washington.
(b)  Purposes – The purposes of this Act are – (what your goal is, what will happen if your bill is passed)

The main purpose of this bill is to allow any adult that does not wish to continue in life after a life changing medical problem has occurred to end their own life with the help of a physician.

SEC. 3. PROVISIONS
            list parts of the bill (how exactly it will work)
            (a)  The patient requesting assist of suicide must be over the age of 18.



(b) You must reside in the state of which you wish to commit



(c) Must have 6 or less months until expected date of death



(d) Must have at least 3 requests (2 oral, 1 written) to physician.



             
SEC.4. APPROPRIATIONS
            give annual cost/authorization (how much will it cost each year)
            (a)  Physicians will use drug to induce the patients into their death that will cost approximately $75 - $100 which will need to be bought by the physician’s office. Based off of that the office would need approximately $500,000 a year at a starting cost to purchase this drug.



            give funding source (where the money will come from)
(c)  It can come from office based donations and/or a certain percentage of each visit made to the office from the insurance company. We can also raise taxes on prescribed narcotics
(d)  and other prescriptions.
